Our story began in 1992, when a product planner in Japan became interested in DJ and club culture. Back then, “DJ” wasn’t a familiar term in Japan, and the idea of a “CDJ” was hard to grasp. But after searching around the company, he met an architect, which led to the launch of the club-standard CDJ-500. He spent hours in front of DJ booths, asked artists questions, wore out mixtapes, and even became a DJ himself. Today, we continue this hands-on approach and create products with artists.
